Ferrari F300 Tower Wing (X-wing) Conversion
Modeling Descriptions and Photos

Tower Wings
Apparently, there are aftermarket place for 1/18th die cast models as well; these resin parts were designed to convert existing 1/18th scale Ferrari F300 into the exciting Ferrari F300 Xwing version.
Sadly, when I received the parts by mail, it seemed that one of the wing was crushed and broke apart. I will have to look at the refence photos and I will need to repair it...

The Wing Assembly
I lightly sanded the resin part and washed them thoroughly. I drilled tiny two holes at the bottom of the wing and inserted a brass rod..

The Original Ferrari F300
I wanted to make sure that I mount these wings correctly. I compared the die cast car with 1/20th scale F300 Xwing kit to find the exact location where the wings should be mounted.

Marking the Wing Location
I wanted to take the car apart so I can access the body easily, but many of the parts were already glued in by the factory... I marked the mounting points and started to drill...

Fitting Test
So far so good, I am happy with the right side of the wing. Now it is time to make the left.

Applying Decals
The decals weren't the best around, they were thin and very rough. Still I was able to apply them without a single problem. The wings turned out to be okay, I think I could have just scratch build them myself...

Overview
I will still need to add the front camera mount and relocate the antenna to the front nose area.

Finished!
Marlboro decals can replace the existing decals to complete the conversion...
