Unfortunately, I haven't been building F1 models to update this web site...
I do have something to show; it is a 1/25th scale Revell's Mustang GT kit with some body modifications. I have added the front/rear spoiler and also gave wide body fenders. All of the body work was performed using Tamiya epoxy putty.
I took BBS wheels from a Tamiya's CLK-GTR kit and also added a roll cage with a Recardo racing seat. And some engine components were scratch built. This was the only model I have a
been building for the past several months... I will get something going soon, please stay tuned! :)

My apology for not updating the site for awhile. This is something that I worked on for the past month of so... Unfortunately, it is not a F1 kit... I will add this page to the additional galleries section later...

Happy holidays!

Not quite finished, but it is almost complete. The car still requires mirrors, some engine piping work, and as you guessed it, I need to assemble an entire rear wing ... I put a quarter for a size comparison to show how small these 1/43rd kits are. I must admit though that making 1/43rd scale kits aren't as easy as I thought it would be. The build needs to be much cleaner than those bigger scale kits. Since the photos must be taken at a "close up" range, any mistake will be magnified through photos... The kit building is very unforgiving in a good way...

My wife and I took a short trip to Las Vegas to relax and enjoy fabulous Vegas shows. We also took a nice tour of a sweet Ferrari dealer inside of the new Wynn hotel. Not only you get to check out great cars such as Enzo and F360, they actually had a used V10 engine from Ferrari F2000 in the display for you to enjoy!

I enoy building this Red5 Jaguar kit although I struggled to mask the colors for awhile.
I painted everything silver and masked sections to lay several coats of metallic blue.
Since I cannot polish silver and metallic blue colors together (they just cannot be polished to produce a good enough result),
I am hoping to work with several layers of clear coats to bring out a nice glossy shine.
This Red Bull livery is quite nice, it almost reminds me a can of real Red Bull!

1/43 scale kits are both very addicting and very frustrating...

I am somewhat slow in making this kit, but it is still going well nonetheless...

The Red5 Jaguar kit converting to Red Bull's winter testing car has been very fun. The masking work is not easy though, but
the blue and silver color livery looks so good! Once I add P/E parts and give nice body polishing, this machine is going to be
one of the rare models.

He strikes again! He is the main reason I lose things. My workbench has been compromised again and I cannot find one of the tires for Ferrari kits. Not good... I don't have any evidence this time, but he does look suspicious!

Ferrari, again? This is the Tameo's Ferrari 2004 kit with a full engine detail. I am very excited to work on this although 1/43 kits are not easy to make... Interestingly, these smaller kits require finer details than the bigger kits... It looks rather crude at this time...

For those who are paying $$$ for detail parts, checking out local art supply stores can be very beneficial! I found this nice
wire set for $0.99
. They have different thickness of these and other useful items. Check them out!

Many unfinished projects... And this is one of them...

I am back here at home from a long trip and I am picking up where I left off... This Red Bull machine is making me thirsty.

When you are on the road away from home, drinking always helps! Funny enough, I felt lonely again by just looking at these photos that I took! ^_^

I had to travel through several Asian countries covering Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong for roughly two weeks.
It was not a vacation trip though, I was managed to buy some books and did some sightseeing for a day or so.
I am feeling sad that this trip could have been easily turned into a hobby shopping trip where I check out as many hobby stores as possible and buy everything! You can walk into any one of the hobby stores in Mong Kok, Hong Kong (there are tons of them) and see a typical Tamiya kit being about 40% less than ones here in US! Argh, can you imagine if these kits are on sale on top of the low place?! Too bad for me!
When I am around Tokyo area, I like to hang out at Shibuya. Shinjuku is cool too, but Shibuya has more fun places for me considering my hobby. I spend several hours at HMV (right off from the Shibuya JR station) checking things out. HMV is actually a music store, but I go here to buy magazines of all sorts.
Sometimes I also like to check out a book store called "Book 1st" (this is the biggest book store in Shibuya) and I enjoy the comic book section at the fifth floor. ^_^
And there is a special place near "Tokyu Hands" (this is the store for "Otaku" which is another good place to check out) called "Mandarake" where you can find rare and old toys too. If you get lucky, you can find something really valuable here!
