1/24 Protar Ferrari 412 T2

FlowDiary Vol. 2

A nice box art! Jean Alesi is the driver on the picture and I will be making his car.

I will need to take care of the joint line (1), I will probably need to do some modification. I will remove all of the pins (2) and make my own.

The decals are in a good condition. This is done by Cartograf and as usual, they are excellent.

This is how the main body will assemble. Do you see any problems? I see two. In order to remove the joint lines, I will have to complete the seat assembly and then also modify the suspension arms to attach at a later time.

I want to remove these (1) front wings too. They are going to be re-attached later.

I decided to rebuild the rear wing. Check it out.

The overall shape looks great, I see a great potential racing machine to be built!

Since I am going to rebuild the rear wing, I note how the rear wing mounts to the side (1) and also noticed that the body is slightly warped as the body gap (2) shows. This will need some hot water bath to get it corrected.

I noticed many of the joints aren't biting correctly, do plan on using lots of clips.

Let's start the surgery by cutting out the area (1) one at a time. Once the part is separated, I take the specs and noted the size so it can be duplicated on the brass sheet.

One by one, I began to duplicate the wing panels. For some reason, this work doesn't look like I am build a model car.

After measuring and cutting the brass sheet for an hour, I was able to create a wing template. This is the first set I made with the template. I also made some extra just in case.

Carefully, I assembled the parts.

The easiest way to repair slightly warped body parts... Hot water!

Various mounting points were drilled out.

Before completing the rear wing assembly, it is necessary to test fit (1) the location of it. This is a time consuming process, but worth it.

Checking the side area (1) here...

This is when you know whether all of your manual calculations were correct or not! Seems good to me so far...

Let me focus on the front area for now; I have nothing but issues and problems here. I will need to shave the nose (1), and figure out how to handle these ugly lines (2) and (3)...
