FlowDiary Vol. 1

I want to try something different for this build diary. I realized most people don't want to read much and I also hate checking for spelling errors and grammar mistakes every night I update the diary.

To prevent myself from writing too much and also to reduce the workload, I worked on this FlowDiary, which contains bigger pictures to show what I am exactly doing and has less words... Hopefully, the pictures will do most of the talking!

I think this is the way I will update the site going forward. Simplicity! I think it is a wonderful idea!

1. Starting with wheels, prime parts.

2. Polish with Testor's Aluminum Metalizer. Apply decals, clearcoat (with dark tint for aggressive look) the entire wheel.

3. Apply the tire surface decals by clear, decal, clear, flat.

4. Starting with body, putty the joint lines and test fit.

5. Cut out the side grille openings and make the body modification as well as replacing the diffuser panels.

6. Prime time with Tamiya white primer.

7. Rework the putty work as necessary.

8. Spray three coats of Tamiya red, orange, yellow mixture.

9. Add P/E part, apply decals, wash the panel lines.

10. Here is a picture of P/E inserts arrangement on the cowl.

11. Scratch build exhaust system with whatever you can think of.

12. I scratch built the rear wing, test fit the front and rear wings and adjust as necessary.

13. Work on barge boards, front and rear wings. The builds are straight forward with minor scratch building.

14. Build the cockpit area, Museum Collection seat belt set was used here.

15. Apply first layer of clearcoat.

16. Apply second layer of clearcoat.

17. These references and upgrade parts were used for this build.

18. Apply third layer of clearcoat. Some orange peel occurred, needed to repair this fast.

19. Gave another wet coat consisted of acrylic thinner and clear in the ratio of 4:1 to remove orange peel (apply this before the previous coat gets fully dried).

20. Bake the car in a dishwasher by leaving the dishwasher in the heat cycle for 4 hours.

21. From this point, everything should be easy going forward.

22. Review what I have done so far:

1. Delete mirror mounts, drill new smaller holes later
2. Delete side aero mounts, drill new smaller holes later
3. Redo exhaust guide
4. Reconfigure the rear wing
5. Add pin support
6. P/E mount
7. P/E Rivets
8. Drill .03mm holes for the cooling duct, but no P/E inserts

23. Attach mirrors, a front antenna, top/side cameras, and a steering wheel. The car is now complete.
